    • - From Gideon Lincecum (1793-1874) by Lois Burkhalter (University of Texas Press, 1965):
      [Pg. 81] "Campbell was captain of Co. F, 5th Regiment, Texas Mounted Volunteers under Colonel Thomas Green of General Henry Hopkins Sibley's New Mexican Brigade. Cassianus and Joseph, Lycurgus' two oldest boys, were in his company, as were many other Washington County boys. It was mustered September 5, 1861."
