      VETERAN RETURNS TO POST
      REDDING (Shasta Co.). March 23. -- Scott Lincecum, recently discharged from the service, has returned to his post as detective sergeant with the city police force. Lincecum was a first sergeant with the air transport command and took part in campaigns in New Guinea, Morotai, Manila and Okinawa.

      City Manager Phil Storm appointed Scott Lincecum, a member of the police force since 1938, as the new chief. He spent four years in the army air corps, serving in Australia, the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan. Lincecum has lived in Redding for the last 12 years and before that resided in Sacramento. He is a native of Texas.

      ...Lincecum took a training course under the Federal Bureau of Investigation last year. He is 36 years old and is married but has no children.
