    • - When Elbert was 14 years old, he had to quit school and go to work with the "C.C. Camp." [Grandmother's Memories to Her Grandchild, 2002]

      - Elbert spent his early life in Douglas County, Missouri. He also worked for several years at Langley Field in Virginia before going to Houston, Texas at the beginning of the space center there. He was a retired supervisor of the electronics branch at NASA. Elbert was a member of the Supervisory Club of Tech Services at NASA and a World War II veteran.

      - Funeral services for Elbert were held in Pasadena, Texas on 31 July 1975. Burial was in Baltimore, Maryland.
