  • Notes
    • - Thomas was elected to the State Legislature as a representative of Prince George's County 16 October 1795. On 24 December 1795, his vote is recorded in favor of the bill incorporating the Chesapeake Bay and Deleware River Canal.

      - Thomas is said to have possessed a gentle disposition and fine intellectual abilities.

      - Thomas' death occurred while on his knees in a Washington church 27 July 1823.

      - Thomas received from his father land near Bladensburg, Prince George's County, Maryland, then called "War Park," but orginally "Railey's Discovery," and built his home on the heights overlooking the village, and the Anacostia River. ["The Bowies and Their Kindred," page 91]
