    • - Since Lou Ella was under the age of 18 when she married John, her father (noted as L. J. Summerlin) provided written consent to the marriage.

      - According to the 1900 Cape Girardeau County, Missouri Federal census, Lou's father was born in South Carolina. And her mother was born in Tennessee.

      - According to the 1910 Cape Girardeau County, Missouri Federal census, Lou had had seven children. Six were living. Same record shows both of her parents were born in Kentucky.

      - According to the 1920 Cape Girardeau County, MIssouri Federal census, Louella's father and mother were born in Missouri.

      - According to the 1930 Cape Girardeau County, Missouri Federal census, Lura's father was born in North Carolina. Her mother was born in Missouri.

      SISTER OF MRS. W. H. GROVES DIES IN CAPE GIRARDEAU

      The following account of the death of Mrs. J. E. Jones, of Cape Girardeau, is taken from Southeast Missourian of Tuesday. Mrs. Jones was a sister of Mrs. W. H. Groves of this city.

      Mrs. Louella Jones, 61 years old, wife of J. Edward Jones, died at 12:30 a.m. today at the home of her son, Jack Jones, on the Bend Road in Red Star suburb. Two years ago she had astroke [sic] of paralysis, and complications arising from that resulted in her death.

      Funeral services will be held at the General Baptist Church at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. E. D. Winstead, the pastor. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery, near Delta. The body, now at the Haman Funeral Home, will be removed to the residence late Tuesday.

      Mrs. Jones, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Summerlin, was born April 30, 1875, at Dutchtown and spent most of her life in that vicinity, but had lived in Cape Girardeau 14 years.

      She was first married to Will Hector, who died in 1905, and of their five children, those surviving are Harry Hector of Delta, Mrs. George Baker tf [sic] Fornfelt and Mrs. Charles Lincecum of Advance. Mrs. Octa Roberts died Jan. 8 of this year, and Virginia Hector died in infancy.

      Her second husband, J. Edward Jones, to whom she was married in 1906, survives. Their living children are Mrs. Naoma Lancaster, and Jack Jones of Cape Girardeau, T. J. Jones who is in a CCC camp in California, and Mrs. Delores Robinson of St. Louis. Another daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hedge died in 1932.

      Other surviving relatives are 13 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Kate Link of Kansas City, Mrs. Monroe Caruthers of Los Angeles and Mrs. W. H. Groves of Dexter; two brothers, Dan Summerlin of Poplar Bluff and Tom Summerlin of Cape Girardeau.
