  • Notes
    • According to the 1930 Scott County, Missouri Federal Census, Chester rented his home on a farm. He was living next door to his sister, Gladys, and her husband Harry Abernathy.

Chester was saved during a revival at Hoe School in Scott County, Missouri in 1936 or 1937. His wife's cousin (?) Hale was minister. Chester was confused about which church he should attend, so he attended several until he moved near Delta, Missouri. Before his mother died in 1933, she told him not to worry so much about what church, but to believe that Jesus Christ was God's son and to accept him as his Lord and Savior. He was either baptized into Delta Baptist Church or Chaffee Baptist Church (?) 26 October 1947. His children were baptized into the same around the same time. (Family tale)

According to his 1940 WWII draft registration, Chester was described as having a sallow complexion, brown eyes, and brown hair.
