  • Notes 
    • - Ella's religious faith was Methodist. She and others held their meetings in the Friendship Baptist Church (the first Baptist church in Byron, Georgia) until 1884 when the first Methodist church was built by David dunbar. The early members were Mrs. H. J. Peavy, the J. H. Crawfords, the Oscar Vinsons, the Wagnons, the Batemans, the Barnes', the Lowes, and the William Warren family from Powersville. Mrs. H. J. Peavy organized the first Methodist Sunday School and taught the first class. [From HISTORY OF PEACH COUNTY, GEORGIA, Governor Treutlen Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, pub. 1972-1973]

      DEATHS AND FUNERALS

      MRS. ELLA WARREN PEAVY
      Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Warren Peavy, 79, whose death occurred at her residence at Byron early Friday morning, were held at the residence at 10:30 a.m. yesterday. Rev. L. T. Rodgers, pastor of the Methodist church of Byron, of which she was a member, officiated and interment was in Byron.

      Pallbearers were J. T. Warren, W. W. Peavy, J. F. Hammock, C. D. Peavy, Ira Green and W. E. Vinson.
