  • Notes
    • - Anne R. Peavy graduated from Scarritt in Nashville and served as a Methodist missionary in Japan for over forty years. Shortly after the beginning of her kindergarten teaching in Tokyo, she went on a short furlough to the mountains. While she was away, the 1926 earthquake in Tokyo destroyed all of her possessions. When she retired in 1966, she returned to Byron to live with her sister, Nell (Peavy) Robertson, in the family home.
