      Julia Thelma Scott, 84 of Dublin, died Tuesday, Dec. 30. She was a native of Johnson County. She was a resident of Laurens County for most of her life and was a Baptist.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Trotter and Mattie Elizabeth Crabb Trotter; her husband, Alton Ray Scott; daughter, Hazel Scott; brothers, Roy Trotter, Gordon Trotter; sister, Elza Mae Reese.

      Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Everett and Carolyn Scott of Belton, Tex., Larry and Bobbie Jean Scott of East Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Angelo and Enoch Fulghum of Dublin, Gail and Ronnie Rogers of Dexter, Connie and Jerry Gravely of Glennville; sister-in-law, Nanny Scott of Dublin; 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Scott, the Rev. Scott Rogers and Mrs. Judy Thigpen officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons.

      Townsend Brothers Funeral Home of Dublin was in charge of arrangements.
