"Bill" Lincecum, 76, of Freeport, father of Victoria resident Elizabeth Bernhard, died at his residence at 4:20 p.m. Friday following a long illness. He was born Feb. 19, 1913, in El Campo, son of the late Dr. A. L. and Letha Gandy Lincecum. He was the owner of Freeport Industrial Service and a well-known inventor. He acquired several patents beginning in his teen years and continuing his career into his 70s. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of several civic and fraternal organizations. A member of a distinguished Texas pioneer family, he is survived by his wife, Gwen Lincecum of Freeport; his daughter; a brother, Barney Lincecum of Lolita; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition [to] his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, A. T. "Bubba" Lincecum in 1983; and a sister, Ruth Tressell. Memorial arrangements are pending in Freeport.
